Trump’s birth control executive order [Video]

[by Ben Noble]

The Affordable Healthcare Act is terribly written. Many covered goods and services, like birth control, mandated by the law are determined by bureaucrats and therefore can change administration to administration. Trump has recently moved to expand the “religious liberty” exception to requiring employers to purchase insurance plans that provide “free” birth control for their employees. (more…)

Don’t vote

[By Ben Noble]

I have two messages about voting that I would like to give in this post. The first one should at least be palatable by the average person, though it will put a couple twists in the underwear of the über patriot or the social contract enthusiast. If I haven’t scared you off after that, then I cordially invite you to consider a my second and more radical message about voting. Gird your loins / hold onto your butts. (more…)

The authoritarianism that explains Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump [Vox Rebuttal]

In May 2016 Vox published a video describing how the allure of authoritarianism is behind the popularity of Donald Trump. The implication being that more Americans are becoming more authoritarian and so they are supporting an authoritarian candidate for President. There are many juicy topics and policy stances that would impact the lives of American citizens directly as opposed to the etherial connection with foreign policy. I suppose the post 9/11 state of the country is a large reason for this as well as the average person’s lack of knowledge about libertarian stances. (more…)

Welfare and Poverty [Libertarian Starter Pack]

[By Ben Noble]

Welcome to the Libertarian Starter Pack. The goal of this series is to let people know that there is an alternative to voting for Clinton or Trump. There is a third political party. The Libertarian Party. In the last video I gave an overview of the libertarian stance on economic policy. In short, you could say that libertarian’s want a separation of economy and state. Right now I would like to talk about the libertarian stance on welfare programs and poverty. Many politicians seem overly focused on the welfare part of poverty and not the solutions. The status quo right now, whether intentional or not, is for the government to hinder economic activity and job growth and then cut a check to the people that are harmed in the process. This is completely unsustainable and immoral. (more…)
